Purpose of the Role
To execute the training initiatives as set within the annual Budget/Business Operating Plan (BOP) for Coates Offshore in the internal and external product and application training of all Coates Offshore products and services.
Total accountability for the quality, effectiveness and documentation for all product training undertaken internally and externally.
Provide the Coates Offshore business with internal and external after hours technical/product support, plus manage the global after hours rota.
Key Responsibilities & Activities
Training
- Ensure all Product training complies with the requirements of any local legislation.
- Develop the training material required for internal and external training.
- Review and enhance training material on an annual basis.
- Develop customer pricing modules for Product Training Courses.
- Develop, implement & review product training strategies to ensure Coates Offshore grows the international capability of our service engineers into a multi-skilled and competent team.
- Investigate the ability to obtain funding to support our training initiatives by working with the Coates Offshore HR Consultant.
Customer Service & Sales
- Maintain and develop key relationships with customers that are attending Product Training.
- Manage any customer complaints regarding training promptly and professionally.
- Provide after hours support for internal and customers on product training, application, technical and service.
- Proactively explore opportunities for Coates Offshore to secure new sales to assist with the achievement of annual sales revenue budgets.
Safety
- Provide the human, technical and financial resources required to effectively manage safety within the business.
- Demonstrate an active and personal involvement in the development and maintenance of OHS management.
- Actively promote the Coates Offshore safety culture.
- Ensure Coates Offshore safety policies and procedures are complied with.
Management Responsibilities
- Participate in performance reviews in accordance with Coates Offshore Performance Development Plan procedures, and take personal responsibility for your own professional growth and development.
- Identify areas of your own development and make appropriate recommendations to your direct Line Manager.
General
- Any other duties, as directed by the Fleet Availability Manager
- Ensure monthly reporting deadlines are achieved.
Essential & Desirable Expertise
Formal Qualifications
- Time served mechanic
- Experience with working offshore
- Secondary school education to 'O' level equivalent as a minimum
Position Knowledge
- Conversant with mechanically powered equipment and ancillary products
- Previous experience as an Offshore Service Engineer role or equivalent
- Understanding of product application and compliance
