Job Description
Purpose of Role

Field development geophysics on the Olowi field, one of CNR’s producing fields within our core West African assets. The role is key to the success of the project and will involve working closely with the field geologist, exploitation engineer, production engineer and drilling engineer to plan for the current and next major phase of development drilling. There is likely to be some near-field exploration evaluation work.

West Africa is a growth area where CNR is expanding activity over the coming years through both increased drilling and asset purchases. Some work on evaluating acquisition opportunities is to be expected.

Duties & Responsibilities

Development Drilling Planning

Responsible for Geophysical Tasks within the team with a focus on depth conversion and well planning of a fluvial reservoir.
  • Seismic Interpretation – using workstations and Landmark based application suite.
  • Detailed depth conversion
  • Geological model support
  • Well planning, generation and management of a well inventory portfolio
  • Monitoring of wells during drilling and well geosteering support.

Acquisitions

  • New field acquisition evaluations
  • Farm-in opportunity evaluations and recommendations.

Working Environment

  • Characterised by working on a major operated project, in a multidisciplinary team environment, with both responsibility and accountability.

There may be occasional travel to West Africa and/or London for meetings.

Other Skills / Experience 
 
AVO and rock physics experience would be an advantage.

Degree or equivalent
