Job Description
Purpose of Role

Perform production and development geology duties on producing fields in one of our core asset areas in the UK1 (Northern North Sea) subsurface team. Work closely with the field geophysicist and exploitation engineer to maintain production, and seek opportunities for growth through generating and evaluating options for in-field drilling, near-field exploration, assessing the suitability of and application of new recovery techniques, and bringing existing prospects to production.
The role is key to the success of the team and leadership/coordinating responsibilities are expected, including preparation of work schedules and plans, and the ability to lead projects as required.
The North Sea is a growth area where CNR is expanding activity over the coming years through both increased drilling and asset purchases. Work on evaluating acquisition opportunities is therefore to be expected.

Duties & Responsibilities

UK1 Team (Ninian North, Ninian Central core areas & new business)
Work with geophysicists, exploitation engineers, production engineers and drilling engineers in field/area specific cross-functional teams. Responsible for Geological tasks within the team, with a focus on opportunity generation, bringing prospects and leads to production, finding ways of increasing field recovery, and building an inventory of drillable wells.
  • Development geology and reservoir modelling for field development / redevelopment.
  • Technically rigorous geological interpretation and evaluation using Landmark & Petrel applications.
  • Reservoir characterisation, reservoir mapping, geological model building.
  • Develop the geological understanding of the field.
  • Assess and communicate geological risk.
  • Provide geological support to Exploitation and Production engineers.
  • In-field and near-field prospect generation, infill well proposals, and generation and management of a well inventory portfolio.
  • Well planning and operations, including support for drilling, well operations and geosteering.
  • Provide geological input to workover and re-perforation opportunities.

Acquisitions

  • Company or field acquisition evaluations.
  • Farm-in opportunity evaluations and recommendations.
