Purpose of Role
Provide and apply reservoir engineering and economic expertise in order to guide with specific recommendations on the future development of assigned assets. Work within a multi-disciplinary team in a critical and lead role; identifying opportunities, forecasting production and reserves, evaluating impact of change to production, cost or schedule, and providing economic optimization. Assets may include new field developments or mature field management, depending on the best fit within the team and field developments being progressed by the team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide production forecasts and reserve assessments through application of appropriate analytical and reservoir simulation techniques on assigned fields.
- Help coordinate multi disciplinary team and deliver work in order to meet project targets and milestones.
- Provide economic analysis to support, justify and optimise existing and future producing assets.
- Ensure recommended projects meet or exceed corporate investment criteria.
- Identify and assess uncertainty / risk in project proposals.
- Present project recommendations and status updates to partners and government.
- Assess and defend reserve changes with third party auditors.
- Generate annual budget and Life of Field plans on assigned fields.
- Provide technically sound assessment of acquisition opportunities.
- Provide support to commercial negotiations on existing assets and other new business opportunities.
- Manage third party studies and laboratory analysis.

- Reservoir simulation experience.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of fluid flow in porous media.
- Oil exploration and development operations overview.
- Economic awareness.
- Subsurface risk assessment; identification, quantification and mitigation.
Preferred
- Track record of identifying new business opportunities through technical endeavour.
- Track record of economic assessment and optimization in a variety of fiscal environments.
- Awareness of emerging technologies in exploitation of oil fields.
- Fractured reservoir modelling and optimization experience.
- Experience with new field appraisal and development.
