Job Description
Purpose of Role

Provide and apply reservoir engineering and economic expertise in order to guide with specific recommendations the future development of assigned assets. Work within a multi-disciplinary team in a critical and lead role; identifying opportunities, forecasting production and reserves, evaluating impact of change to production, cost or schedule, providing economic optimization. Ideally the candidate should have prior experience of EOR studies, pilots or field implementations on mature, offshore, seawater flooded, light oil, clastic reservoirs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide production forecasts and reserve assessments through application of appropriate analytical and reservoir simulation techniques on assigned fields and projects.
  • Help coordinate multi disciplinary team and deliver work in order to meet project targets and milestones.
  • Provide economic analysis to support, justify and optimise existing and future producing assets.
  • Ensure recommended projects meet or exceed corporate investment criteria.
  • Identify and assess uncertainty / risk in project proposals.
  • Present project recommendations and status updates to partners and government.
  • Assess and defend reserve changes with third party auditors.
  • Generate annual budget and Life of Field plans on assigned fields and projects.
  • Provide technically sound assessment of acquisition opportunities.
  • Provide support to commercial negotiations on existing assets and other new business opportunities.
  • Manage third party studies and laboratory analysis.

  • Upstream oil & gas operator experience.
  • Mature field, seawater-flood clastic reservoir experience.
  • Subsurface risk assessment; identification, quantification and mitigation.
  • Economic awareness.
Preferred
  • Track record of identifying new business opportunities through technical endeavour.
  • Experience of EOR studies, pilots or field implementation
  • Awareness of emerging technologies in exploitation of oil fields.
  • Track record of economic assessment and optimization in a variety of fiscal environments.
  • Experience with new field appraisal and development.
