Job Description
Purpose of Role

Work with Senior Exploitation Engineers in the OWA team to provide reservoir engineering and economic analysis support for the assigned field(s). This work will include reservoir management, production forecasting, project studies and corporate budget input.
 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide reservoir management by updating, adding to and communicating the Reservoir Management Plan for the assigned field.
  • Work with Production and Exploitation Engineers to verify allocated oil, gas and water data and update databases or files for use by Exploitation.
  • Provide production forecasts and reserve assessments through application of appropriate analytical and reservoir simulation techniques on assigned fields (such as decline analysis, material balance, etc).
  • Provide support for reservoir simulation models, under the direction of Senior Exploitation Engineers, to build, validate and history match models and make prediction runs to forecast reservoir performance. Assist with data compilation and presentation preparation.
  • Collect, analyse and present well test data and reservoir implications.
  • Provide economic analysis to support, justify and optimise existing and future producing assets.
  • Ensure recommended projects meet or exceed corporate investment criteria.
  • Identify and assess uncertainty / risk in project proposals.
  • Assist with the compilation of data sets in support of Corporate Budget and Reserves Audit processes.
  • Help to present project recommendations and status updates to partners and government.
  • Gather data and assist with economic evaluations and justifications of development opportunities.
  • Gathering and compiling data from company records or literature searches in support of field studies.
  • Manage third party studies and laboratory analysis.

Qualifications
Essential
BSc Engineering or Physics
 
Preferred
Master's in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent experience
