Job Description

A vacancy exists for a Mechanical & Lifting Inspection Engineer as a result of increased work scope within the Mechanical Team. You will join the onshore Operations Department in Altens, Aberdeen working within the Maintenance & Integrity Group.

Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will act as Company Focal Point for the day to day and contract management of:

  • Pedestal cranes, lifting equipment, personnel & goods lifts
  • Safety equipment and lifeboats
  • Flexible hoses and fixed heli-fuel systems

In addition you will be responsible for the maintenance schedule of equipment stated above and closure of all audit action points within the agreed timeframe.

Individuals applying should have:

  • A suitable engineering qualification with solid experience working in inspection and/or maintenance team
  • A wide range of exposure in UKCS offshore and onshore facilities with specific expertise in offshore handling and lifting operations
  • An in-depth knowledge of current applicable legislation and regulations for lifting equipment
  • Good knowledge of lifting equipment systems, practices and techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of current verification practices and systems
  • Good knowledge of offshore/terminal plant, equipment and maintenance systems
  • Good knowledge of SAP
  • Good knowledge of DCR and PFEER
  • Exposure to Contract Management/Representation
  • A strong personal commitment to Safety, Health and Environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to work as part of a team but also be able to use their own initiative as permitted
  • Ability to gain the relevant offshore certification and ability to travel to onshore and offshore sites as required
  • Knowledge of safety and lifesaving equipment beneficial
